About Us

Company Background

Sean Davey and Gareth Evans set up Channel MEP in 2022 and have quickly built up a wide client base, embracing a reputation as trusted, committed and dedicated mechanical and electrical project contractors.

Sean and Gareth had recognised the growing requirement within the industry for a combined M&E service. Merging the design, coordination of mechanical and electrical contractors and project management ultimately provides better value, better solutions and better service for clients than individual contractors.

Sean Davey

Director (Electrical)

Sean has run his own businesses since 2011 when he established Sean Davey Electrical in 2011, then SD Facilities and SD Projects in the years after.

He has worked as an electrician since leaving school and has built a strong reputation with businesses and domestic clients in the southeast.
Sean has a wide network of contacts within the building industry locally, and further afield. With SDE, SD Facilities and SD Projects, Sean has worked on domestic and commercial projects, up to £1m in value.

As his portfolio of projects grew, so did the number of requests for mechanical services from SD Projects and SD Facilities. As a skilled entrepreneur, the most logical next step was to set up a MEP business.

Away from the office, mountains beckon Sean who loves to get his adrenaline pumping with mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding. He has two grown up children who work with us at Channel MEP and also for Sean’s other businesses.

Gareth Evan Channel MEP

Gareth Evans

Director (Mechanical)

Gareth is a well-respected Mechanical Operations Consultant and has delivered projects ranging from £10k to £5m across all build sectors.

From the commercial, retail, and public sectors. He has built strong relationships with clients, suppliers and contractors have been built on many years of mutual trust, loyalty and commitment to getting jobs completed successfully.

Gareth began his career working as a plumber, before moving to project management, contracts management and then contracts director. This breadth of experience means he knows how the trades work on site and how progress is made in the board room. Not only that, his hands-on experience and knowledge has proven invaluable in more complex projects.

During his time as a contracts manager, Gareth gained a wealth of knowledge around the tendering process, mechanical (as well as electrical) project design, delivery and risk management. He brings that to Channel MEP, alongside Sean’s electrical project expertise and management.

Outside of the office, Gareth enjoys family life with his wife, their two sons, and their loveable British bulldog Stanley. At the weekend, when he isn’t watching the boys play football or rugby, you’ll find him fishing on the edge of a lake or canal.

Karen Poetschke

Office Manager

Karen is our office manager having worked with Sean since 2018 for his electrical business.

Karen has been an integral part of the team since 2018, originally working alongside Sean in his electrical business. As Channel MEP grew, so did Karen’s responsibilities. She naturally transitioned into a broader role where she now oversees both our accounts and day-to-day office operations.

From managing financial records, supporting Sean and Gareth and keeping the office running smoothly and efficiently, Karen plays a vital role in ensuring the business stays organised and on track. Her calm, reliable presence and attention to detail make her a go-to person for both the team and our clients.

Karen’s love of numbers began early, starting her career as a bank clerk with NatWest at just 16. After taking time out to raise her children, Karen returned to work as a teaching assistant at her local primary school. Over 22 years, she rose to become team leader of 30 teaching assistants—an achievement she’s incredibly proud of!

Outside of work, Karen is all about making the most of life. She loves spending time with her family and grandchildren, as well as catching up with friends over a glass of prosecco—strictly for the antioxidants, of course. A devoted Robbie Williams fan, she rarely misses a chance to see him live. She’s also a big fan of the theatre and enjoys nothing more than a night out at a show.
